Going's on

Well, we have had estimates for a composite wood deck and a sprinkler system to be installed this spring. Needless to say, we budgeted correctly for the sprinkler system, but not the deck. Can you believe six grand for a simple 13x13 deck? That's only four times more than anticipated. So, if we want a deck it seems that we will be bribing some friends. I know that you can't wait to hear those stories. Next question, do we get the sprinkler system installed before the deck now that we know it might take a while to get done?

Delaying the deck is also that realization that day care for the new baby will be around $800 a month when we start that in January. Ouch!!

Here is one picture from my trip to London that I just love.

That is a hilarious picture!! I guess the ducks get top billing since they are a little faster?!?!

Definately get the sprinklers, but if you are going to put in a deck, be sure you don't put sprinklers where they would end up under the deck. Unless you want a fountain in the middle of the deck....

Do you guys have Flexible Spending Accounts available? Would be worth looking into if you can put aside money for day care BEFORE taxes.

How is Mom-to-be Samantha doing??

Yea, we need to determine how and when to do the deck, and ensure that we don't put the sprinklers under the deck. We do not have FSA's that I'm aware of unless you choose a high-deductable medical plan.

Mom-to-be is doing great, and starting to show. She feels like her skin is stretching.

I think that picture is adorable! I can't figure out why you are putting in a sprinkler system.... your grass is always green as it is right now... go for the deck and some bribing and you should be fine! The sprinkler system doesn't need to be done, yet.... wait until the little one can run around in the sprinklers then get it installed.... slip and slide anyone?!?! =)

Sure!! Let's do the slip n slide, then you won't need to worry about sprinklers, because your lawn will be shot!!!

We will be putting in the sprinkler system because after the baby, we won't have the time or the money to do much else other than watch the grass grow. Looks like we might be putting in a cedar deck instead of the composite. It's about a third of the cost.
