No Naked Turkey in San Antonio

It was lasagna, cheese tart, caesar salad, and garlic bread for Christmas dinner in San Antonio. Kyle and Terri brought Strawberry Cheesecake from Harry and David - yum-o!
No tryptophan induced naps for us, the Cowboys did that for us this time. We cried ourselves to sleep, but they are still better than the Bucs!

Happy Birthday Kevin!

December 2nd was Kevin's @#*th Birthday! That also would have been Mom's 80th. We kept pretty busy for the day. We went and played golf with our friend Tom. I actually got a bogey on one hole!! Whoo hoo!! It must have been the extra large shot of Butterscotch Schnapps that I put in my coffee. You know, just a little sweetener!

After golf we came home and rested a little bit. Then we went to dinner, stopping in Davis to put some flowers on Mom's grave. Well that was the plan at least. While I was standing in line to pay for the flowers (I'd been in line about 10 minutes already) I realized that I didn't have my wallet in my purse. I had forgotten to put it back in after golf. Oops! So we just went to the cemetary and I gave her my tears for her birthday.
We went to The Buckhorn in Winters for dinner. I think most have you have been there at some time or another. Great steaks and bread! Yum!! But poor Kevin had to pay for his own Birthday dinner! That's what happens when you are the older and wiser half.

Anyway, here are some photos of the B-Day boy!

Excellent job Brooke!! Looks like you did a lot of work!! Bet it was yummy!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

The effects of Tryptophan

Dinner included.....

Well, I have just sent pictures to Martha's phone again as I don't have the capabilities with my home computer to download them (it is that out of date!!) I also posted this under my first post as I have no clue how to do Blog sites, but think I just figured it out..... it takes me time you know this! =)

The dinner was delicious and consisted of:
13 lb turkey (smallest I could find!!) stuffed with carrots, celery, orange, apple, and onion
Brussel sprouts
Caulifolower w/ melted cheese
Boiled Potatoes
Roasted Potatoes
Yorkshire Puddings (rolls)
Bacon
Cranberries

And for dessert, a home made Pumpkin Pie with Ice Cream!!!

And for those who didn't think I could do it (including myself)... I made everything myself!!

Naked and Drunk

Just a little sauce on top of this beauty.
LET'S GO BUCS!!!

Pictures of the honored guests!

Here are pictures of the guests. The Meal is almost ready!

Brooke's Naked Turkey part 2

Now that looks a little more like a turkey. And it is certainly more Naked than Brandon and Samantha's!! Carroll says he will take pictures, but we probably won't get them till later. He's in Wisconsin with the in-laws!

I'm sure most of you are more familiar with Blogs than I am, but just in case you didn't know, you can add comments onto the different posts. So don't forget to check if someone had some snide remark to make! (What in this family?!?!? No way!!!!)

Our Turkey Day Adventures...

Hi all,

The day began for us at the gym for Yoga. Then we delivered stuffing and sweet potatoes to be baked at Pam's house. Put our foil wrapped Naked Turkey in the oven, because ours is a little modest. Here are the latest pictures.

Brooke's turkey

Thank you to Brooke for sending this picture of her not quite Naked Turkey! She sent it from her cell phone and I had to go online to get it since I don't have picture capabilites on my phone. Ain't technology grand?!?

Another Thanksgiving Tradition

What the hell! I don't get to go out tomorrow morning and join in the fun. I've got some work to go to tomorrow. Someone's got to keep bringing home money for the dog biscuits. Kyle, do you get to work early tomorrow morning? Brandon, are you going out shopping with Samantha for those 5 am specials?

Turkey Day Preparations

We are having everyone who is in town to our house for Turkey Day! This year we are getting our meal already prepared from Super Suppers. We love them for some of our dinners, and decided to let someone else do all the prep work this year. Here are the details.

8-10 pound Boneless Turkey Breast (28 servings)
Cornbread Stuffing (22 servings)
Thanksgiving Gravy (16 servings)
Candied Sweet Potatoes (16 servings)
Mashed Potato Casserole (13 servings)
Classic Green Bean Casserole (13 servings)
Dinner Rolls (32 servings)
Double Crust Apple Cranberry Cobbler (17 servings)

Here are our invited guests:
Samantha's parents (Pam and Sam)
Samantha's grandmother (Mary Pearson, a.k.a. Gaga)
Trevor
Kyle and Teri
and of course ourselves!!

Stay tuned for the rancid pumpkin pie story from Samantha....

No Naked Turkey can call itself dressed unless it is followed by pumpkin pie!!

Our Naked Turkey Not Yet Uncovered

There it is! 15.9 pounds of free range turkey waiting to get NAKED. Tomorrow, you'll see the baby fully unwrapped. Then the next time you'll see it, will be after 2.5 hours at 500 degrees in the oven.
As for the rest of the meal, we'll be having some mashed potatoes, stuffing and a pumpkin pie. Martha will have to chime in with the rest of the menu as she's responsible for that part. Don't know if Martha mentioned, but we'll be having our next door neighbors, Mike and Sandy, over for T-Day dinner. My family is spread out this year, so we decided to stay home.

This is awesome!!

This is great! I can't wait to post the pictures of my 13lb turkey (the smallest I could find!) for just Richard and I to enjoy! This will be my 2nd attempt at cooking a turkey dinner, more English style than American (interestingly enough being that Enlgish don't celebrate this holiday),.... Great job at the blog and I can't wait to see the pictures that are posted!!!
Love you all!
