The end of the Oregon Trail

Here are some photos of our new place in Beaverton. Had to use the pictures Kevin took when it was empty, because it is still a mess!! We are working on getting it put together though.

End of the year

Samantha is gearing up for the end of the school year. She only has 4 more days!! Samantha will also be teaching summer school to offset some of the missed income from the fall semester when she will be teaching our son at home.

I finally have a bit of a break at work since my new associate started today. However, now I will spend the next few weeks teaching her how to do her job. Oh, did I mention that my new associate, Sonia, is due with her first child two weeks after Samantha? Needless to say, we will be juggling schedules come September.

One more for the road

Here are Kevin's brother Jerry and his wife Kathleen toasting to a safe trip to Oregon. Of course Mookie had to get in on the action too!! Kevin went up on Monday and got a place for us. Our new address will be 14856 SW Conor Circle Beaverton, Oregon 97006. We should be up there by the 26th. We both have new cell phones. My number is 503-887-7768. We are having a garage sale tomorrow and still have stuff to pack up. I hope we get it all done by the 25th. So guess what I'm doing this weekend????

The Belly is Growing

Yes, we are in "Sale Pending" mode. Only 24 more days until we hit the road with all our stuff! I hope we get it all packed by then!! Any volunteers?!?!?! Wink, wink....

On the Oregon Trail

Just to update those of you who might look at this, (Hi Brandon and Samantha!!) we are supposed to close on the 30th of May. They want to move in on the 25th though. So we may be on the road to Portland on the afternoon of the 25th! I am still planning on working that day. So we will see. Kevin is going to go up to Portland in a couple of weeks and look for a rental so we have somewhere to go!!! Then we need to find jobs too I guess! Bummer. Anyway, that's what's happening.

Wisdomless

Here I am 8 1/2 hours after getting my 3 wisdom teeth removed. Can you tell I'm not real happy about it?

Actually, the procedure itself didn't go too bad, since I was knocked out! First time I have ever been under general anthesisia. Not bad! Woo hoo! But they said that I did have a tooth that was up against the bone, so that was a little harder to extract. That is why they tell you to have it done when you are younger, so that they don't have time to grow. But even with all that, they said that the actual extraction of all 3 teeth only took 20 minutes! We got there at 9am and were out by 10!! Kevin was nice enough to take me and wait for me! He said he felt like the waiting room was an assembly line. They were calling people back constantly. One of the nurses told me that the surgeon does 20 extractions a day!! Kevin is just lucky that they didn't hustle him back there and pop his mouth open too!

As you can imagine, I have spent the rest of the day icing my face and napping. So far all I have had to eat is a cup of pudding and a yogurt. I will try for some soup a little later. It is about 6:30 and I am trying to fight off the urge to sleep after my last pill. I want to be able to sleep tonight!

I suppose my face will be all swollen tomorrow. That is when it is supposed to be the worst. I am already noticing it on my right had side where they removed two teeth. Plus it is starting to bruise. More pictures of that later!!! :>)
